The Elusive Samurai anime will have a second season

In the most recent issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, it was announced that the anime adaptation of the manga created by Yuusei Matsui, The Elusive Samurai (Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi), will have a second season. This work captured attention from its premiere due to its unique visual style and direction.

The production team and voice cast are expected to return for this second installment. Although it could premiere sometime in 2025 or 2026, the additional production time will help maintain the high standards of animation and quality in the action scenes, aspects that stood out in the first season.

The last episode of the first season left many questions open, especially regarding Tokiyuki's future and his mission to avenge his fallen clan. Although a premiere date has not yet been announced or specific details about the new episodes have been revealed, the confirmation of the continuation has excited many fans of the original manga, which is still publishing chapters.

Yuusei Matsui began publishing the manga through Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in January 2021. This was the author's first serialized publication after a long period of five years after the completion of Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (Assassination Classroom), another of his globally popular works, which was also adapted into anime almost a decade ago.
