Kaguya-sama's author's new manga only lasted a year

Leaks from the upcoming issue of Weekly Young Jump magazine reported that the manga written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by 5mm Nishizawa, "Renai Daikou (Love Agency)," has come to fruition. This confirms then that this work by the creator of "Kaguya-sama: Love is War" and "Oshi no Ko" ends just one year after it began.

- "I'm not surprised. It wasn't a bad manga, but it didn't have anything special about it either, and I feel like the characters were a lot flatter than Kaguya-sama: Love is War and Oshi no Ko. I imagine it didn't gain as much notoriety as those series. It's sad because the illustrator did such a good job."
- "I'm not particularly surprised, this series hasn't been horrible but it also hasn't done anything to establish itself as a special in almost 40 episodes. I just hope that now that he has fewer distractions, the quality of Oshi no Ko's writing will go back to what it was before Renai Daikou started."
- "Yes, I've heard that the show was okay too, but even I'm surprised that it ended so soon. Anyway, I hope this means that Oshi no Ko will be decent again, because... I couldn't help but notice that the quality of the series was declining while Renai Daikou was being created."
- "Shueisha (in all likelihood) canceling a really good series by Aka and Nishizawa, but keeping some abomination of the period of the Fighting States of China in the Young Jump is so Shueisha. After all, corporatists treat their stuff as consumer goods."
- "Unexpected, but that's the way things are handled now."
- "Wow, were the sales of this one that bad? If so, it's a real shame. Although it's nowhere near as funny as Kaguya-sama, I liked some jokes and some characters. The art is also quite pretty. Honestly, I'd rather they remove Oshi no Ko."
- "I read the first chapter when it came out and that's it, I think the premise was a bit interesting but not so interesting that I kept reading it."
- "The guy is fucking finished, Oshi no Ko is trash and this one is going to be canceled if it continues like this. He got too carried away by the success of Kaguya-sama: Love is War."
- "I don't think Renai Daikou has been cancelled because of the general criteria of the Young Jump. Looking at the numbers, I think it was considered whether it was better to keep Akasaka in a manga with mediocre sales or try your luck with a new one. That said, Renai Daikou's marketing was EMBARRASSING."
For her part, Aka Akasaka began publishing the manga through Shueisha's Young Jump magazine in April 2023, with art by 5mm Nishizawa. The author is recognized for other works such as "Kaguya-sama: Love is War" and "Oshi no Ko", the latter of which was published at the same time as this one.
