BAKI-DOU, Sequel to Baki Hanma, Will Have Anime

The final screening event for the second season of Baki Hanma in Japan announced that the manga written and illustrated by Keisuke Itagaki, BAKI-DOU, will be getting an anime adaptation. The statement confirmed that TMS Entertainment Studios will continue to be in charge of animation, however, no release date was revealed.
The anime adaptation of Baki Hanma had two seasons, released in September 2021 and July 2023, respectively, being distributed by Netflix globally.
For his part, Itagaki published the manga in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion magazine between March 2014 and April 2018, with a total of twenty-two collected volumes published. Subsequently, a second part was published from October 2018 to June 2023 in the same magazine, achieving seventeen compilation volumes.

Synopsis of BAKI-DOU
Baki Hanma, increasingly satisfied with his title of "World's Strongest Boy", spends his days mired in boredom. After finally settling the feud with his demonic father Yuujirou, Baki defends his title in the Kourakuen Underground Arena while choking out yawns caused by the ease with which he defeats his challengers. Baki's friends and mentors also struggle with this new, peaceful immobility, completing great feats of strength training with little enthusiasm.
Soon, Japan is rocked by the revelation of a long-brewed scientific experiment that results in the successful cloning of legendary samurai Musashi Miyamoto. The famous warrior enjoys testing his strength against Baki and other icons of Tokyo fighting, but struggles to assimilate to the modern era. Miyamoto-san clings to his old ideals of honor and dueling to the death, a philosophy that clashes with the quieter present.
As the resurrected swordsman attempts to rise to the top of this unknown society by breaking through Baki's friends, he finds himself on a collision course with the vengeful teenager. Baki gets carried away with emotion and faces his new rival.
