Another 'broken old man' arrives in From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman

On the official site for the anime adaptation of the light novels "From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman (Katainaka no Ossan, Kensei ni Naru)", the first promotional video for the project was revealed. The video confirms that the premiere is scheduled for the Spring-2025 period (April-June), and reveals the production details of this project.

For his part, Shigeru Sagazaki began publishing the novels through the independent service Shousetsuka ni Narou in November 2020, while Square Enix has been publishing them on paper with illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima since April 2021. A manga adaptation by Kazuki Satou has been published through Akita Shoten's Dokodemo Young Champion magazine since August 2021.

Synopsis of From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman

Beryl Gardinant, a self-proclaimed "humble old man," is a sword instructor at his dojo located in a rural, secluded village. In his youth, he dreamed of achieving glory as a master swordsman, but those days are long gone. Suddenly, he receives a visit from a famous former student who brings him shocking news: he has been appointed special instructor for the knights of the Order of Liberion!

With her life completely turned upside down, Beryl travels to the capital and meets with some of her former students: elite knights, a prodigious mage, and even an adventurer who has reached the highest possible rank in the guild.
