Godzilla and Evangelion announce a collaboration

Recently, a promotional video combining the worlds of "Godzilla" and "Neon Genesis Evangelion" went viral, capturing fans' attention thanks to its stunning visuals and epic combat scenes. The clip shows Keizer Ghidorah facing off against EVA-01, one of Evangelion's iconic biomechanical units, in what appeared to be an exciting film project or even a special series. However, the revelation that this crossover was designed solely to promote a new pachinko machine left many fans disillusioned.
The video served to advertise the "P Godzilla vs Evangelion: Second Impact G" and "e Godzilla vs Evangelion: Second Impact G Hakai Shin Kakusei" machines, manufactured by Bisty and scheduled to arrive at pachinko parlors in Japan in December. Although pachinko fans will likely find the design and advanced technological features appealing, the general community of fans of both franchises expressed their frustration on social media.
It's not the first time the Godzilla and Evangelion franchises have crossed paths. Previously, collaborations had already been made for products such as collectible figures and special events, but fans have always wanted a more ambitious project that takes advantage of the full potential of both universes.
Nonetheless, pachinko machines are a lucrative business in Japan, and developers often turn to popular anime, film, and video game franchises to attract players. However, these collaborations often generate mixed reactions, especially when the promotional material is as elaborate as in this case.
