Why Yotsuba to! Never had anime?

There has been a rumor for decades that the reason why the manga "Yotsuba to!" was never adapted into an anime is because when "Azumanga Daioh" was adapted, author Kiyohiko Azuma had strong arguments and problems with the production team, so he claimed that he would never again allow another of his works to be adapted into animation.

As the author never came out to confirm or deny these rumors, fans continued to feed them over the years. It wasn't until 2008 that the author finally broke his silence and decided to respond to these comments, completely denying them.
In a post on his personal blog, he wrote: "I don't think it's a good idea to respond to each and every rumor that comes up on the internet, so I usually let them go. But lately I've been asked questions about this and it made me very curious. It's a complete lie, don't worry."
The author explained that he never had any problems with the team of the anime adaptation of "Azumanga Daioh" and that he had such a good relationship with the staff members that they even went out drinking. "They even went so far as to say that it was rare for an author to be so involved in a production," he wrote at the time.
And he finally decided to explain why his popular manga "Yotsuba to!" never got an anime adaptation. "The reason is simply that 'Yotsuba to!' is very difficult to adapt faithfully." The author shared a scene from the original manga and then explained that it would be difficult to portray the characters' everyday lives in an anime series. In other words, the author is more than clear that if you try to adapt the vision of "Yotsuba to!" that both the author and the fans have to the anime, in the end everything would be a failure.
At the time, many people reacted to the author's statements, noting that "it was a relief that the rumors turned out to be false" and that "it is not really necessary for Yotsuba to! be adapted into anime." It seems that many fans support author Kiyohiko Azuma's way of thinking, especially since they value "Yotsuba to!" so much that they wouldn't want to see an unsatisfying anime adaptation.

Meanwhile, "Yotsuba to!" continues to be one of the highest-rated manga in all of history, with a synopsis he writes:
- While most people find the world mundane, five-year-old Yotsuba Koiwai sees it as a treasure trove full of bustle and wonderful places to explore. When she and her adoptive father, Yousuke, move to a new city, the energetic girl sets out to investigate the neighborhood on her own. After a few incidents at the local park, the Koiwais meet their neighbors, the Ayase family. His three daughters, mischievous college student Asagi, responsible high school student Fuuka, and kind-hearted elementary school student Ena, end up taking a liking to Yotsuba and participating in his antics, despite being ridiculed.
- From learning how to use a swing to figuring out how to stop global warming with air conditioners, Yotsuba's ability to unfailingly find fun in everything both amazes and angers the people around her. Along with Yousuke, the Ayase, and the friends he makes along the way, Yotsuba embarks on daily adventures, each one of them another step in his quest to enjoy the simple things in life.
