The shonen Sakamoto Days is getting an anime this year

The most recent edition of the digital magazine License Global listed the production of an anime adaptation for the manga written and illustrated by Yuuto Suzuki, "Sakamoto Days", which is scheduled to premiere this year through Netflix's global catalog.

It should be noted that although this information comes from an official medium, the adaptation has not been officially announced by either Netflix or Shueisha but, considering that the release window is this year, it is possible that the official announcement will come very soon. It is worth noting that this is not the first time that an anime adaptation for this work has been mentioned, since the first "reliable" leak about it emerged in August 2022.

For his part, Yuuto Suzuki began publishing the manga through Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in November 2020 and it is still in serialization. Suzuki is also the author of other one-shot works such as "Locker Room" and "Garaku". In fact, "Sakamoto Days" comes from a one-shot he published in 2019, making it his first serialized manga.

Synopsis of Sakamoto Days

Tarou Sakamoto was considered the greatest hitman of all time. Feared by many, he was at the top of the underground world until he met and fell in love with a woman. As a result, Sakamoto gave up his life of crime and now works as a shop assistant. Leaving his murky past behind is more difficult than Sakamoto first imagined. Many of his former rivals and partners don't believe he's really gone out of business and show up hoping to take it down. With the prohibition of killing, Sakamoto must find creative ways to subdue his enemies and prevent them from harming his family, his shop, and the small town in which he resides.
