The novels I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire! They will have an anime
During the online event "5th Overlap Bunko All-Star Roundup Special", a promotional teaser was presented announcing the anime adaptation of Yomu Mishima's light novel series I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire! (Ore wa Seikan Kokka no Akutoku Ryoushu!), which will premiere in April 2025. The anime will air in the "Animazing" block on ABC TV, TV Asahi, and 22 other networks in Japan.
The first promotional image of the anime was also released.

The series follows the story of Liam, a man who in his previous life was moral and responsible, but ended up betrayed by his wife and deeply in debt. After his death, he is reborn into a noble family that rules a vast interstellar empire. Determined to live selfishly this time, Liam tries to become a tyrant, but his actions end up bringing peace and prosperity to the empire, which only increases his popularity.
Voice cast
- Natsuki Hanae as Liam, the protagonist of the series and with previous characters such as Tanjiro Kamado in Demon Slayer and Kaneki Ken in Tokyo Ghoul.
- Queen Ueda as Amagi, Liam's servant, known for playing Kanao Tsuyuri in Demon Slayer and Akane Shinjō in SSSS. Gridman.
- Takehito Koyasu as Guide, the mysterious being who reincarnates Liam, known for his role as Dio Brando in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Zeke Yeager in Attack on Titan.
Production Equipment
- Tetsuya Yanagisawa (Shattered Angels, High School DxD) will be in charge of the direction.
- Katsuhiko Takayama (Aldnoah.Zero, Boku no Kanojo ga Majimesugiru Shojo Bitch na Ken) will be in charge of the scripts.
- Kazuya Morimae (WorldEnd: What do you do at the end of the world?) will be in charge of character design.
- The music will be composed by Yūsuke Seo (Clockwork Planet) and Shun Narita (The Quintessential Quintuplets).
- The animation will be in charge of the Quad studio.
The novels began publication on the Shosetsuka ni Narwebsite in August 2018. Overlap has published the print version with illustrations by Nadare Takamine since July 2020, with nine volumes to date. The manga adaptation, by Nadare Takamine, has so far released seven volumes, with the next one scheduled for October 25, 2024. In addition, there is a spin-off titled I'm the Heroic Knight of an Intergalactic Empire!, which has been published until volume 3, and its manga version has two volumes.
