The Dangers in My Heart anime will have a movie

The official website of the anime, inspired by the manga The Dangers in My Heart (Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu) by Norio Sakurai, announced this Sunday that the production of a film adaptation of the series has been approved. Production details as well as the release date of the film will be announced soon.

The announcement was made during a special fan appreciation event, through a promotional video. At this event, which took place in Tokyo, it had a "Retrospective Screening" and during it the production of the film was officially presented, although the release date has not yet been revealed.

The promotional video showcased emotional moments between characters Kyotaro Ichikawa and Anna Yamada, highlighting Ichikawa's confession of love to Yamada in the classroom. The video was shared on the anime's official site and on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter).

The film will be a re-edited version of the original series, with additional scenes showing what happens between Ichikawa and Yamada after the events of the series.

Norio Sakurai, the original creator, also unveiled a commemorative illustration to celebrate the film's production.

Synopsis of The Dangers in My Heart

Kyoutaro Ichikawa may seem like a typical high school student, but in his heart he dreams of murder. So it's no surprise that the person he most wants to kill is never far from his mind: class idol Anna Yamada. Reading alone in the library of his beloved school, he inadvertently begins to meet Yamada, who comes to secretly gorge himself on his beloved candies and sweets. Through their interactions, Ichikawa discovers how silly Yamada is, and he can't help but support her from the sidelines. Meanwhile, Yamada herself can't help but relentlessly mock Ichikawa due to her giddy reactions. Thanks to a series of very touching daily interactions, the distant bond between the two becomes more than just library acquaintances. Perhaps, in time, Ichikawa will come to realize that his murderous desires have turned into something else entirely.
