The anime Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru Release Date

The anime adaptation of the light novels written by Kei Sazane and illustrated by Toiro Tomose, Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru (The Ultimate Game-Battles of a Boy and the Gods), will premiere on April 1 in Japan. This was announced by the production along with a new visual.

Sazane and Tomose began publishing the light novels through Media Factory's MF Bunko imprint in January 2021. A manga adaptation with illustrations by Kapiko Toriumi began publishing in Comic Alive magazine in August 2021, with its second compilation volume published in April 2023 in Japan.

Tatsuya Shiraishi (Overlord II, Ace of Diamond, Hellsing Ultimate) is directing the anime at LIDEN FILMS studios.
Yoshihiro Watanabe (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, Sora no Otoshimono) is in charge of character design and animation direction.
NTL takes care of the writing and supervision of the scripts as their first job.
Gin de Busted Rose (Aho Girl, Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san, Kono Bijutsu-bu ni wa Mondai ga Aru!) is in charge of composing the soundtrack.

Synopsis of Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru

The Ultimate Brain Games, "Game of the Gods" made by their supreme grace, Gods, who had too much time on their hands probably. An ancient god, Reche, who awoke from a long slumber; declared to the world: "Bring the person who is the best in Games in this era!" The test given to mankind was to win ten games against the Gods. Ten difficult games brought by the Supreme Gods. There has yet to be a victor throughout this vast human history. Fast forward to modern times. The man "chosen by the Gods" Fey. In the name of all humanity, he was given the task. The task of challenging and winning in brain battles with these Supreme Gods.

But, Fey was no ordinary boy. He's the guy nominated as the "best rookie" in recent years. The "Game of the Gods" that he is about to challenge might be too difficult. In fact, there is no human in history capable of succeeding. The reason is pretty obvious. God is capricious, very unreasonable, and sometimes even "Utterly Incomprehensible." But, since it's a game, "it's a waste not to have fun and play from the heart." And so begins the ultimate brain battle between a gaming genius boy, an ancient God (who happens to be a girl) and his friends.
