SPY x FAMILY goes viral for 'a shit'

On July 31, the Blu-ray/DVD version of the movie "SPY x FAMILY: Code: White" was finally released in Japan and, as many may have already imagined, it didn't take long for it to be completely leaked to the Internet. This led fans to discover a scene that attracted quite a lot of attention not only because it is 'scatological humor', but because of a great quality of animation.

In fact, the high quality of animation is not really surprising, especially since the "SPY x FAMILY" franchise is being produced by the collaboration between WIT STUDIO and CloverWorks, two studios that have consistently stood out with each of their new productions.

In the scene in question, Anya struggles with her urge to go to the bathroom (she will be killed after defecating, since she ate a chocolate that had a microchip inside). In the end, all her effort makes her hallucinate that she meets the "God of Poop", who praises her efforts to restrain herself and encourages her to relieve herself. Yes, it's definitely a scene that produces a lot of grief, especially if someone took their family to see the movie in movie theaters.

And finally let's look at the comments:

  • "You've never had a much-needed and good poop, huh? They captured that feeling perfectly."
  • "What the hell did I just see?"
  • "That whole scene came out in The Simpsons when Homer needs to go to the bathroom and hallucinates with a paradise of toilets."
  • "WIT Studios really said they would only produce serious works, they decided to drop the Shingeki no Kyojin adaptation because it was 'too hard' and they've since thrown nonsense (Nokotan, SpyxFamily)."
  • "I had the great pleasure of seeing this in the cinema and everyone was dying of laughter. The funniest anime scene ever, hands down."
  • "What the hell is this anime about at this point?"
  • "They spent the rest of the season's budget on a single scene."
  • "The tone of this series is funny because it goes from being an over-the-top comedy of everyday life to an episode about the horrors of surviving and being traumatized by World War II. In a way, I respect him for that."
  • "I'm glad I'm following the manga."
  • "I don't remember watching this and I watched all the episodes."
  • "Why is the animation so beautiful for such a strange scene?"
  • "The animation in slice of life anime is amazing at the most random moments."
  • "That's how it feels to shit at home after putting up with it all day at school."
  • "Yes, I left this show at the beginning of the second season."
  • "This describes the feeling we all get after holding it for 5 hours."
  • "Why is this the most relatable thing I've seen in an anime in years?"
  • "You've probably never been in a situation where you get on a bus for a 3-hour ride from the office to home and as you get on, you realize there's pressure building up. And you have to put up with it. Even after you get home, you still have to put up with it because you have a cat/dog."
  • "I've said it several times before: but the animation of Spy x Family is regularly much better than it should be."
  • "I was in absolute shock as I sat down and watched this in IMAX. I still can't say if I liked this movie or not."
  • "More budget and they don't know where to go."
  • "I like this show, but sometimes I'm so embarrassed by others that I just... I can't."
  • "This is the most damn thing I've seen all day."
