Sousou no Frieren: Fern criticised for becoming 'fat'

As previously reported, the popular manga "Sousou no Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey's End)" has entered an indefinite suspension. This is normal for those who have followed the work since its inception, but it may have taken those who came to the manga by surprise after the successful anime adaptation recently aired.

However, because they don't have much to do while the play is on hiatus, fans debate about the more particular things about the play, and something that caught the eye was an illustration of Fern where she is really noticed with a very different design than usual.

In the illustration, which is definitely not recent, we can see Fern combing Frieren's hair and making two braids on him, which she also wears. However, it seems that this hairstyle change confused Tsukasa Abe, the manga's illustrator, a bit, as Fern's face design was more "chubby".

It didn't take long for this to be noticed by fans, who debated whether Fern had become fat over the years within the manga:
