Blue Archive Fans Disappointed With Anime

As we have already mentioned in previous articles, Hatelabo: Anonymous Diary is a social network in Japan where Internet users can post messages anonymously, either to share an opinion or issue a criticism with the advantage of not having to deal with the answers. On social media, it often happens that when someone criticizes something, fans of that something come to respond immediately.
That is precisely the advantage of the site in question, since a recent review went viral on comment forums in Japan when it presented a harsh criticism towards the anime adaptation of "Blue Archive", one of the great promises of this season, or at least that's what they say:
- I can't control my anger towards anime, so I decided to write this. First of all, anime sucks, to put it mildly. I won't see him anymore. The character designs, the CGI, the battle scenes, it's all terrible. If they did something like that with the money we players paid, I'd be at least a little angry. Who gave the orders to do the main story? It's a real mystery. Is this the beginning of the end?
- There are a lot of smartphone video games that went downhill after the failure of anime, and do you want this to be one of them? I don't have the mental capacity to watch it again, so I can't be more specific, but I think the production team is a bunch of airheads who don't even know what a gun battle is.
- The game's combat itself is a system where weapons don't matter, but that doesn't mean the anime should be any different. My overall impression of anime is that it has tarnished content, disappointed users, alienated newcomers, and fueled anti-bigotry. And this is what turned me into an anti-fanatic.
- I don't want these staff members to make any more anime, let alone Blue Archive. I myself have decided that it is best to withdraw from this content. I no longer have any motivation to play the video game either. It's not that I quit because I stopped liking it. It's so heartless to see all the good memories I had in the past come crashing down like this.
- It's because of anime that I've become like this. It would have been easier to think that it was just an original anime, but it was impossible. It's just that it fell far short of my expectations. I'll walk away from Blue Archive, but being on the Internet, I'm sure to find it again even if I don't want to, so if I get angry again, I'll write another message.
- I hope this is the first and last time I do this. I used to criticize the anti-bigots myself, but now I don't feel like defending Blue Archive. (…) Most of the ones who draw at Blue Archive aren't really good. And the official designs are getting worse and worse. Enlarged heads in some parts, especially the volume of the hair, and it is becoming more and more noticeable. Servers are always crashing, and maintenance rarely fixes the most noticeable glitches. There's no excuse for anime's failure, it's impossible for it to be a budget issue.
- I know it's late, but if you have time to copy other video games, you should take note of how to make your own. Major updates are also taking too long. I've never felt so humiliated in my life, to have something I liked trampled on. I'm seriously going to hate anime for the rest of my life.
While some are criticizing the performance of the anime adaptation of "Blue Archive", especially based on the fact that its ratings are going down more and more, others continue to catalog it as "the promise of the Spring-2024 season", especially since it has the dominance of Blu-ray/DVD sales assured by the simple fact that these physical packages will include a special code for the video game.
Nonetheless, all this melodrama didn't go unnoticed on comment forums:
- "If a video game is affected by the simple fact that its anime adaptation isn't successful, then the game wasn't good in the first place."
- "I haven't seen the Blue Archive anime, but I think a lot of these projects could be based on what they did with the Princess Connect anime!"
- "I realized immediately that a single season wouldn't be enough to show the best of the story."
- "The only thing you can appreciate now is the music, this content."
- "I get the impression that anime adaptations of smartphone video games only present the characters superficially. Maybe if they did like Uma Musume: Pretty Derby, enough episodes to get the background of each one."
- "What kind of people are pissed off about Blue Archive?"
- "It's unbelievable that this is only subtly sold in Japan."
- "The effect is that the animation content sucks, that's why the original looks better."
- "Is it rather a success that erotic doujinshi only master after spending so much on advertising?"
- "To be honest, I don't think the opening is very good. I watched it but didn't understand at all what the show was about."
