Solo Leveling Anime Breaks Record for Dislikes on Crunchyroll

The anime adaptation of Solo Leveling has been on a record-breaking streak since its premiere in January, however, the most recent one is not one to celebrate. Well, its compilation episode (listed as 7.5) has become the episode with the most dislikes in all of Crunchyroll. So far, it has a total of more than 64,500 dislikes, while it has only about 30,600 likes. Being practically more than double.

This is understandable, as Solo Leveling will only have a total of 12 episodes and being aired right after episode 7 (considered the best episode of the series so far), the vast majority considered it unnecessary and even annoying. Although there were also those fearful that, as in past A-1 Pictures series, this is an indication of problems in the production. Despite this, the series won't really be affected in a negative way, at least for now.
Recently, Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Purini revealed in a recent podcast that his company introduced the "Solo Leveling" manhwa to Aniplex and was instrumental in bringing the anime series into production. "Our team read the manhwa, liked the IP, and so we actually took it to one of our sister partners in Japan — Aniplex — and co-produced the series with them," Purini said.
Synopsis of Solo Leveling
Ever since a portal appeared that connects our world to another full of monsters and creatures of all kinds, some people have acquired powers and the ability to hunt them, gaining the name of hunters. The protagonist, Sung Jin-woo, is the weakest of the E-rank hunters and barely stronger than a normal human. He is nicknamed by his fellow hunters as "the weakest". One day, he and others find themselves trapped in an extremely dangerous dungeon, and only a few survive and manage to escape. Sung Jin-woo himself barely survives and is the only one who completes all the trials in this dungeon, becoming a "player", being able to see an interface that shows him quests, stats, inventory, shops and levels. Will he manage to level up to become the most powerful hunter?
