Chainsaw Man Fans Dream of a Waifu Return

The latest chapter of "Chainsaw Man," author Tatsuki Fujimoto's most popular work, is still on everyone's lips. Putting Denji in the worst possible situation, now being dissected in the Demon Detention Center and not knowing the fate of his partner Nayuta, the play has moved towards a crossroads where the protagonist needs the help of a third party to solve his current problems.

Even Pochita, who is still alive inside Denji, tells him that there is nothing he can do to help him, since he is being held and parts of his body are being removed to render him useless and unable to regenerate. Thus has begun the countdown for Denji, but the most recent chapter has made it clear that someone has shown up outside the facility to help him.

Who will it be? Evidently the comment of "We are in the Tokyo Demon Containment Center. (...) Only a war could jeopardize our security" implies that the outsider is Asa Mitaka, who harbors the War Demon Yoru inside his body. However, fans of the franchise have begun to come up with a theory that, looking at the evidence, could convince more than one.

It turns out that they believe that although Fujimoto has given an obvious hint that he is Asa Mitaka, the panel showing his legs is apparently evidence of another character: Reze. It is mentioned that the author wants you to believe that this is the Demon of War, but the character standing outside does not wear Asa Mitaka's signature long skirt, nor does he wear socks as high as hers. In fact, the mysterious character's appearance is much more reminiscent of Reze's features.

Some characters who were supposed to be dead in the "Chainsaw Man" story were making their unexpected returns in this recent story arc, will it finally be Reze's turn? Evidently many were giving their opinion on the matter:

• "I hope this is the surprise that Asa finally changed his clothes for the first time in over forty chapters."
• "It's Kobeni about to wipe out the entire Public Security unit for the sake of his best friend."
• "Wait until you realize it's Kishibe."
• "You're all wrong, it's about Nayuta."
• "We have an Arc of Reze movie on the way, so it's time to bring it back to manga and the author knows it."
• "The reason I actually think it's Reze is because she spent her whole life trapped in a government facility and would never let Denji, someone she really cares about, go through the same fate."
• "To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Reze. Both Aa and Reze could star together in the next chapter. There's no way a single person can get into the facility and save Denji. It wouldn't be surprising if a third party was leading the rescue operation, like Kishibe, and Reze would be a key member."
• "Let's face it, Kishibi is no longer a member of public security and is not retired because there is no way for a professional like him to leave the job after entrusting the reincarnation of Makima to Denji as if nothing happened. I'm sure he's monitored the situation from afar and is doing what needs to be done from the shadows."
• "Oh no, this is the kind of thing Fujimoto usually does and you guys keep dropping like flies."
• "Do you know who would have an interest in saving Denji? Other foreign governments such as the Soviet Union, and would send Reze as their agent. The phrase at the end does not refer to Denji, but to the Japanese government shooting itself in the head by trying to get rid of Denji and earn the contempt of other nations."
• "Wait for it to be revealed that it's Kobeni."
• "I doubt it. Reze tends to stand with his legs together unless he's in a martial arts fighting stance, while Yoru tends to have a wider stance like in the last panel. Besides, Reze is taller and those legs seem too short to be his."
