In the middle of the 21st century, powerful individuals with superhuman strength appeared all over the world. These people who wore flashy clothes and performed incredible feats in the name of peace became known as heroes, symbolic figures of the nation from which they came. In Japan, Teru Momijiyama, a 14-year-old student, is known for her secret identity as Japan's heroine, Shy.
As a shy young girl, Shy is a fairly rookie heroine with a lot to learn. She has a hard time trusting herself and wonders if she deserves the title of hero. Although she's unsure of herself, Shy strives to save people and do the right thing. As powerful new threats are revealed, Shy must cooperate with heroes from around the world while learning what it means to be a hero.
