Shaman King will enter his last arc

A press release reported that the upcoming "Shaman King Yard" manga will be the final story arc of Hiroyuki Takei's "Shaman King" franchise. Currently, the new manga is in preparation and a release date will be announced soon.

Hiroyuki Takei began publishing the original manga in June 1998 through Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in August 2004. Following a series of one-shots titled "Shaman King: Zero Stories," a sequel titled "Shaman King: Flowers" was published on Jump X between April 2012 and October 2014, followed by "Shaman King: The Super Star" on Shonen Magazine Edge between April 2018 and November 2024.

Regarding the anime, two adaptations have been produced, with the first of 64 episodes produced by the NAS and Xebec studios and broadcast between July-2001 and September-2002; and a second adaptation of 52 episodes produced by the Bridge studios and broadcast between April-2021 and April-2022.

Synopsis of Shaman King

Shamans are extraordinary individuals with the ability to communicate with ghosts, spirits, and gods, invisible to ordinary people. Shaman Wrestling, a prestigious tournament that pits shamans from around the world against each other, is held every five hundred years and the winner is crowned Shaman King. This title allows the current holder to summon the Great Spirit and shape the world as he pleases.

One night, Manta Oyamada, an ordinary high school student, is late for class and decides to take a shortcut through the local cemetery. Noticing his presence, a lonely boy sitting on a tombstone invites Manta to look at the stars with "them". Realizing that "they" refers to the boy and his ghostly friends, Manta flees in terror. Later, the boy introduces himself as You Asakura, a shaman in training, and demonstrates his powers by allying himself with the ghost of the six-hundred-year-old samurai Amidamaru to save Manta from a group of thugs. You befriends Manta thanks to his ability to see spirits and, with the help of Amidamaru, they set out to fulfill You's goal of becoming the next Shaman King.
