From the creator of Goblin Slayer, comes the Blade and Bastard anime

On Sunday, DRECOM Media revealed that the Blade & Bastard light novel series, written by Kumo Kagyu and illustrated by so-bin, will have an anime adaptation. In addition, a visual teaser and a promotional video were shown that was also screened at the "New York Comic Con 2024", which is being held in New York, USA.

From the creator of Goblin Slayer, comes the Blade & Bastard anime

The light novel, which began publication in December 2022, is a collaboration between Kumo Kagyu, author of Goblin Slayer, and so-bin, the illustrator of Overlord.

DRECOM released the fourth volume of the novel on October 7, 2023, while the manga adaptation, by Fugetsu, began in June of the same year. The manga's first compiled volume was published in October 2023, and the fourth volume will go on sale this Friday.

Synopsis of Blade & Bastard

Deep within the unexplored regions of a dungeon, a corpse is discovered that shouldn't exist. Iarumas, who has been resurrected, has lost all his memories of his former life and spends his days exploring the dungeon in search of the bodies of fallen adventurers, hoping that they can be revived. However, his cold and calculating attitude, and his relationship mainly with the dead, have earned him both respect and contempt. This changes when he meets Garbage, a savage young swordswoman and the sole survivor of a slaughtered party. Together, they delve deeper into the dungeon, searching for clues to Iaumas' past while avoiding monsters, traps, and the possibility of an ashen and final fate.
