Dandadan takes a look at its second season

During the panel for the "Dandadan" franchise at the Jump Festa 2025 event, a promotional video for the project's second season was revealed. The video confirms again that the premiere is scheduled for the Summer-2025 season (July-September), and places the Spanish animator Abel Góngora as the second director of the project.

Yukinobu Tatsu, who was one of the assistants of author Tatsuki Fujimoto, began publishing the manga through Shueisha's Shueisha publishing house Shonen Jump Plus digital service in April 2021, where it is still in serialization. The first season premiered in Fall-2024 (October-December) and featured a total of twelve episodes, produced by Science SARU.

Synopsis of Dandadan

After being aggressively rejected, Momo Ayase is angry when she bumps into a boy who is being bullied. Saved by her reckless kindness, the occult-obsessed boy tries to talk to her about supernatural interests he thinks they share. Rejecting her claims, Ayase proclaims that she is, instead, a believer in ghosts, starting an argument between the two about which one is real. In a bid to determine who is right, the two decide to visit places related to the occult and the supernatural separately: Ayase visits the former and the boy the latter.

When the two arrive at their respective places, it turns out that neither of them was wrong and that both the occult and ghosts exist. This marks the beginning of the adventure of Ayase and the boy, who shares a name with Ayase's favorite idol, Ken Takakura, as they try to fix the surreal supernatural and sci-fi elements around them to return to a normal life.
