Blue Lock Anime Reveals Trailer For Its Upcoming Spin-Off Film

A new trailer has been revealed for the anime film adaptation of the spin-off manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Kouta Sannomiya, Blue Lock: Episode Nagi, from Kaneshiro's own franchise, Blue Lock. The film will be released in theaters in Japan on April 19. The video shows a snippet of the main theme song "Stormy" performed by Nissy and SKY-HI.
Let's remember that the franchise also has a second season for the anime adaptation in production, however, it does not yet have a premiere date. Do you think the screenings of the film can give more information about this sequel?
On the other hand, Kaneshiro and Nomura have been publishing the manga in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine since August 2018. The work already exceeds 5 million copies in circulation and won the "Best Shonen Manga Award" at the forty-fifth edition of the Kodansha Manga Awards.
Production Equipment
- Shunsuke Ishikawa (Blue Lock, Sword Art Online: Alicization) is directing the film at 8-Bit Studios (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken).
- Taku Kishimoto (Haikyuu!, Silver Spoon, Fruits Basket (2019)) is in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
- Sorato Shimizu (Gegege no Kitarou, Kantai Collection: KanColle) is in charge of character design and animation direction, with assistance from Masaru Shindou (Fruits Basket, Macross Delta, Oregairu).

Synopsis of Blue Lock
The story begins with the elimination of the Japan National Team from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, prompting the Japan Football Union to start a training program to prepare a team of high school students for the 2022 World Cup. Isagi Yoichi, a forward, receives an invitation to join this program shortly after his team loses an opportunity to participate in Nationals, due to passing the ball to his less skilled teammate, who obviously missed the shot, which denoted Isagi's cowardice in not daring to finish the play himself.
Their coach will be Ego Jinpachi, who intends to put an end to the idea of "weak Japan in soccer" by implementing a radical new training regime: isolating 300 young strikers in a prison-like institution called "Blue Lock," and subjecting them to rigorous training that will create "the greatest, most talented, most selfish striker in the world."
