Zombieland Saga shows signs of life again

The popular anime franchise "Zombieland Saga" has surprised its fans with the release of a new song titled "すきっちゃん!からチュッ" (Sukitchan! Karachu~tsu), available from today, December 3. This release marks the return of the music series after two years without any major news. The song, performed by the members of the fictional group Franchouchou, was created as part of a special collaboration with the city of Karatsu, in Saga Prefecture, Japan.

The lyrics of "Sukitchan! Karachu~tsu" is loaded with references to Karatsu's landmarks and iconic products, such as Mount Kagami, Karatsu Castle, Yobuko's famous squid, and Karatsu-Q mackerel. In addition, the music video, which combines animation with real footage of the city, shows the members of Franchouchou dancing in these iconic places. This visual homage reinforces the close bond between the franchise and Saga Prefecture, which has always been a central part of the Zombieland Saga narrative.

Since its premiere in 2018, "Zombieland Saga" has established itself as one of the most original and beloved anime series. The story, which mixes elements of comedy, music, and even zombies, follows a group of resurrected girls who become idols to revive Saga's economy. Following the success of its first season, the series released its second part, "Zombieland Saga Revenge," in 2021, leaving fans eager for more content.
