Yamcha's voice ruined his career for cheating

Veteran voice actor Toru Furuya, 71, known for his iconic roles in series such as Mobile Suit Gundam and Dragon Ball, has been embroiled in a scandal after being accused of having an extramarital affair with a fan 37 years his junior. The incident, which was reported by media such as the Weekly Bunshun, not only involves infidelity, but he is also accused of domestic violence and having forced an abortion on his partner. In the wake of this scandal, Furuya has been removed from several of his most iconic roles. In the new Dragon Ball Daima series, released on October 11, the actor has been replaced by Ryota Suzuki (25) in the role of Yamcha, a decision that was announced on the official website of the series. Furuya also resigned from her roles as Toru Amuro in "Detective Conan" and Sabo in "One Piece," saying on Twitter that this decision was "the only way to redeem her conduct."

Despite the controversy, Furuya is still a name remembered for his work in the anime industry, starting his career at the age of 10 and making his mark on legendary productions.
