WIT STUDIO is back with Yaiba
On the official site for the new anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Gosho Aoyama, "Yaiba", the second promotional video of the project was revealed. The video confirms that this new project will be titled "Shin Samurai-den Yaiba" and that the premiere is scheduled for the Spring-2025 period (April-June) in Japan.
For his part, Gosho Aoyama, who is also the author of "Detective Conan", began publishing the manga through Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in September 1988, and ended it in December 1993. The work got a 52-episode anime adaptation that aired between April-1993 and April-1994.

- Touko Machida (Akame ga Kill!, Hataraku Maou-sama!, Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru.) is in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
- Yoshimichi Kameda (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, One Punch Man, Mob Psycho 100) is in charge of character design and animation direction.
- Yutaka Yamada (Tokyo Ghoul, Vinland Saga) and Yoshiaki Dewa (Shokugeki no Souma, Highschool of the Dead) are in charge of composing the soundtrack.
Yaiba Synopsis
The protagonist, Kurogane Yaiba, is a wild samurai boy who trains in the jungle with his father, Kenjurou. By a twist of fate, the determined samurai Yaiba returns to Japan and meets his rival, Onimaru Takeshi. Yaiba, who lives for serious battles, embarks on a spectacular adventure when Onimaru obtains the "Legendary Sword of the Demon".
