Whisper Me a Love Song is suspended indefinitely

Following the airing of today's episode, it was announced that the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Eku Takeshima, "Whisper Me a Love Song (Sasayaku You ni Koi wo Utau)," has been suspended indefinitely. Due to production issues, Episode 9 ended up being delayed by two weeks, causing this anime to run out of airblock for Episodes 11 and 12.
Let's remember that the Summer-2024 period (July-September) will begin next week and all productions already have a space reserved on television (including the one that "Whisper Me a Love Song" currently occupies). Because of this, the series does not have space to air its last two episodes, so it will have to wait for someone else to vacate to integrate there (which usually happens until the end of each period).
It should be noted that this comes as no surprise to anyone, given that it was revealed that the production of "Whisper Me a Love Song" has been plagued by problematic working conditions, disorganized schedules, poor communication, and questionable behaviors by animation studios Yokohama Animation Lab and Cloud Hearts.

Eku Takeshima began publishing the manga in Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Yuri Hime magazine in February 2019. He previously worked on the character design of the anime "Null Peta", and published other works such as "Kimi ni Suki tte Iwasetai (I'd Like To Make You Say Loving)"; "Hare no Kuni no Appare-dan (Appare! Girls in Okayama)"; and "Saiko Hunter Ryuu", to mention a few.
Production Equipment
- Akira Mano (Tonikaku Kawaii, Asobi Asobase, Ghost Hunt) is in charge of directing the anime at CLOUD HEARTS studios, replacing Xinya Cai (Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saisei Jutsu, Magatsu Wahrheit: ZUERST). The Yokohama Animation Lab studios also join this production.
- Hiroki Uchida (Gamers!, Shikkakumon no Saikyou Kenja, Schwarzesmarken) is in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
- Minami Yoshida (Princess Connect! Re:Dive, Cider no You ni Kotoba ga Wakiagaru, Manaria Friends) is in charge of character design and animation direction.
- Hiroshi Sasaki (Hakushon Daimaou 2020, Tsugu Tsugumomo) and Wataru Maeguchi (Sugar Apple Fairy Tale Part 2, Mob Psycho 100 III) are in charge of composing the soundtrack.
Synopsis of Whisper Me a Love Song
Yori Asanagi is a mature girl in many ways, but she remains pure when it comes to romances. This sentiment is demonstrated when a freshman, Himari Kino, suddenly confesses her love to him after her band's performance at the opening ceremony. Confused and surprised, Yori asks her friends for consultation, but they mock her by telling her that she is experiencing love. Yori soon makes up her mind and tries to reciprocate Himari's feelings, but in a turn of events, she realizes that what Himari loved was not her, but her music!
Sasayaku You ni Koi wo Utau revolves around the relationship between Yori and Himari. As Yori continues to pursue his love for Himari, he vows to make Himari fall in love with her. However, will this passionate love flourish or will it remain unrequited?
