Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy will have a third season

Following the airing of today's episode, the production of a third season for the anime adaptation of the light novels "Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy (Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu)" was announced. The statement did not reveal production details or a scheduled release date, but it did reveal a visual of the main characters opening a barrel of sake to celebrate the news.

Kei Azumi began publishing the original novels through the independent service Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2012, while publishing house AlphaPolis began publishing them on paper with illustrations by Mitsuaki Matsumoto in May 2013. A manga adaptation by Kotora Kino has been published through the Alpha Manga service of the same publisher since 2015.
Meanwhile, the anime adaptation totals thirty-six episodes to date, with twelve of the first season produced by C2C, and twenty-four of the second season produced by J.C.STAFF.
Synopsis of Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy
The fantasy story centers on Makoto Misumi, an ordinary high school boy who is sent to a new world as a brave warrior. Unfortunately, the goddess of that new world said to him disdainfully, "How ugly you are," stripped him of his title, and banished him to the farthest reaches of the desert. While wandering around the area, Makoto encountered dragons, spiders, orcs, dwarves, and all manner of fantastical creatures. Due to the differences in his homeworld environment, Makoto now exhibits extraordinary magical and combat powers. Therefore, he survives in this world while facing various threats. Thus the curtain rises on the fantasy of social reform of the alternate world, centered on a young man abandoned by the gods and by humans.
