A popular social media profile has caused a stir among "Dragon Ball" fans by spreading an alleged leak about the return of "Dragon Ball Super." According to this account, a promotional page announcing the return of the manga after a long hiatus would have been revealed before the Jump Festa event. The image, which has gone viral on Twitter, shows a hand with a red glove reaching out to a sword, accompanied by the Japanese text: "No mercy for the gods!" and the date "2025" in prominent letters.

The detail that captured the attention of fans is the possible involvement of Janemba, the iconic villain of the non-canon film "Dragon Ball Z: The Fusion of Goku and Vegeta" from 1995. The red sword in the image bears an uncanny resemblance to Super Janemba's Dimensional Sword. However, some astute observers pointed out that the sword appears to have been drawn from Gorr the God Butcher's weapon in "Thor: Love and Thunder". This was the first indication that the image lacked authenticity.

Another striking detail in the poster is the black Dragon Ball used in the Dragon Ball Super logo, which belongs to the concept of the Dark Dragon Balls of Dragon Ball GT. This reference generated speculation among fans, who theorized about a possible reintroduction of the Dark Spheres in a new narrative arc.

As appealing as the idea of seeing Janemba in canonical continuity is, many fans were quick to point out that the leak was fake. The responses on social networks are full of comments calling the poster a montage, while others preferred to have fun and "play" with the possibility. However, there is no official announcement by the team behind Dragon Ball about the manga's return or a special Dragon Ball Super-related event for Jump Festa 2025, scheduled for December 22, 2024 in Japan.

The Dragon Ball Super manga, written by the late Akira Toriyama and illustrated by Toyotarou, went on indefinite hiatus after Toriyama's death and temporarily concluded with Chapter 103 in March 2024. Toyotarou, who is expected to play a crucial role in the future of the franchise, continues to share illustrations of both popular and little-known characters created by Toriyama.
