A new list of the ten best manga of 2024, based on a survey conducted by the eBook Japan service, has been revealed. This ranking, compiled through votes from more than 5,000 Japanese readers, highlights not only great Shonen Jump titles, such as Jujutsu Kaisen, but also works from more diverse genres and demographics.

The full list, published by PR Times, includes popular titles such as "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," "My Dress-Up Darling," and "The Apothecary Diaries," the latter with the peculiarity of appearing twice for its two ongoing mangas. The full list is below:

Although Shonen Jump usually dominates this type of list, this time only three Shueisha titles managed to position themselves: "Jujutsu Kaisen", "Kingdom" and "Kaiju No. 8". None of them made it into the Top 3, which is surprising considering the continued impact of franchises like One Piece, which broke sales records in 2024.

In third place is Shodensha's "Onna no Sono no Hoshi," a light comedy that has been described as an ideal remedy to relieve stress and lift your spirits after a difficult day. In second place stands "Re-Living My Life with a Boyfriend Who Doesn't Remember Me", by Kadokawa, an emotional story of romance and fantasy that has moved readers with the drama of its protagonists.

Finally, the first place is occupied by "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End", by Shogakukan, a story that explores friendship, regrets and the meaning of humanity. This manga has had an exceptional year thanks to the success of its anime adaptation, which managed to dethrone "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood" in March as the highest-rated anime on MyAnimeList, with an impressive score of 9.32/10, a position it maintains until now.
