Teen romance will return with Blue Box

On the official site for the anime adaptation of Kouji Miura's manga, "Blue Box (Ao no Hako)," a new promotional video for the project was revealed. The video confirms that the premiere is scheduled for October 3 in Japan and that the Netflix platform will be in charge of its worldwide distribution, and shows a fragment of the musical themes, which include:
- The band Official HiGE DANdism will perform the opening theme titled "Same Blue," while singer EVE will perform the closing theme titled "Teenage Blue." Both artists shared comments about their participation:
- Official HiGE DANdism: "I was filled with such an intense emotion that it made me forget time and myself, finding myself with my immature and weak self. The vivid colors of youth are conveyed through the work, so much so that it seems that they will also color my heart. The direct words and the feeling of speed, almost as if stumbling, are born from there. The feelings towards love and club activities are different, but they share the same heart-moving impulse, the same 'blue' colour. That same 'blue' is also inside me, who composed this song. However, as each one experiences various things, that blue becomes muddied or lightened. I think those nuances of the heart overflow in this song."
- EVE: "I remember when I would lose track of time and immerse myself completely in something, how ordinary days were special to me, and how, without realizing it, we grew up and became adults. Blue Box is a work that reminds me of those important things. I've gathered everything I could create now that I'm no longer a teenager, and I'd be glad if, through the work, you could feel it."
Kouji Miura began publishing the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in April 2021. Kouji Miura is also the author of other manga such as "Sensei, Suki desu." and "Aozora Rubber", while "Ao no Hako" is based on a one-shot he published in 2020.

Synopsis of Blue Box
Taiki Inomata, a third-year high school student, attends Eimei Academy, an integrated school with a major sports program. Having joined the high school's badminton team, Taiki tries to attend open training as soon as possible. But no matter how early you go, the second one always arrives at the gym. The person who is one step ahead of him is Chinatsu Kano, a freshman at the institute who has a crush on Taiki. Chinatsu is the rising star of the basketball team, and the difference between her and Taiki couldn't be greater.
Although Taiki is a decent badminton player, his popularity is nowhere near Chinatsu's, making it even less likely that their feelings will be reciprocated. However, in a strange twist of fate, he ends up living in Taiki's house! Wishing to become a worthy rival for Chinatsu, Taiki pursues the same dream as his girlfriend: to participate in the Nationals. Taiki begins training harder than ever, all in order to establish a strong relationship with her new housemate.
