Suzumiya Haruhi returns, but not as you wanted

The successful light novel franchise "Suzumiya Haruhi", written by Nagaru Tanigawa and published by Kadokawa, is celebrating the release of its new volume, "Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekijou", with a crowdfunding project that seeks to finance the production of a new song and its respective music video. This campaign will begin on November 15 at 8:00 p.m. (Japan time) through the CAMPFIRE platform. It's the first crowdfunding initiative for the series in four years and represents an exciting opportunity for fans to get directly involved in the creation of new content.

The initial goal of the project is to raise 10 million yen. If this goal is reached, a new song will be produced performed by the characters Haruhi Suzumiya, Mikuru Asahina, and Yuki Nagato, along with a 3D animated video clip that will show Haruhi in action. If the project manages to reach the secondary goal of 15 million yen, 3D models of Mikuru and Yuki will also be added for the music video, allowing the three protagonists to be seen together in a completely new visual experience.

For the creation of this song, the same creators behind the iconic themes of the series such as "Hare Hare Yukai" and "God Knows" have been summoned, which promises a memorable and nostalgic composition. In addition, the project will also offer exclusive content for backers, including an audio drama featuring the anime's original voices: Aya Hirano (Haruhi Suzumiya), Tomokazu Sugita (Kyon), Minori Chihara (Yuki Nagato), Yuko Goto (Mikuru Asahina), and Daisuke Ono (Itsuki Koizumi).

The crowdfunding campaign has a wide range of rewards and special merchandise, such as acrylic plates and exclusive editions that can only be obtained through this initiative. In addition, a special message has been published from Haruhi Suzumiya herself, who serves as the "director" of the project, encouraging all SOS Brigade supporters to join the effort:

"This project has a lot of potential and you all need to be a part of it! On November 29th we will release the new volume of the series, and to celebrate it, I have decided that we will also create a new song. And not only that, but a video clip! With the help of my friends from the light music band, we're going to make sure it's the best song ever. I hope to have the support of all the members of the SOS Brigade!"
