Successes continue for My Deer Friend Nokotan's deer waifu

As we have previously mentioned, the anime adaptation of "My Deer Friend Nokotan (Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan)" is shaping up to be one of the most interesting series for the Summer-2024 season (July-September). This is not only due to the fact that WIT STUDIO is in charge of the animation, but because it is apparently an ode to shitposting with a clever promotional strategy that has put the name of the franchise on everyone's lips.

The story focuses on Torako, a girl who used to be foul-mouthed and cruel in her bygone days. Nowadays his classmates only know his perfect student side, but everything changes when Nokotan, a transfer student, enters his life. Nokotan is rare from the fact that she has antlers, but her deer nose is able to sniff out Torako's secret past. Thus begins a series of events that are much easier to see than to try to explain.

One of the most important aspects of this campaign has to do with the opening theme song, titled "Shikairo Days" and performed by the main voice cast, consisting of Megumi Han, Saki Fujita, Rui Tanabe, and Fuuka Izumi. In fact, the production even did an hour-long loop of the chorus, which cleverly says "Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan." So every time someone repeats this, they're actually saying, as is, the title of the franchise.

And the latter is what brings us together today, since the video in question has just surpassed one million cumulative views. In fact, it's quite curious that the hour-long loop reached the finish line much earlier than the promotional videos for "My Deer Friend Nokotan," which are supposed to be the main material to promote this upcoming series. The production also shared a curious special image to celebrate the announcement, which appears to be inspired by the covers of THE FIRST TAKE's videos, in which a guest singer performs an a cappella song with little accompaniment.
