Sousou no Frieren confirms a second season

During the special anniversary event, the production of a second season for the anime adaptation of "Sousou no Frieren (Frieren: Beyond Journey's End)" was announced. The statement did not list a scheduled release date but, to the surprise of many, confirmed that Madhouse studios will continue to be in charge of the production.

Meanwhile, Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe began publishing the manga through Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in April 2020, and it is still in serialization. An anime adaptation by Madhouse studios aired during the Fall-2023 season (October-December) and had a total of twenty-eight episodes.
Synopsis of Sousou no Frieren
The Demon King has been defeated, and the victorious group of heroes has returned to their respective homes after disbanding. The four of them—the magician Frieren, the hero Himmel, the priest Heiter, and the warrior Eisen—reminisce about their decade-long journey when it's time to say goodbye. But the passage of time is different for elves, which is why Frieren witnesses how his beloved companions are slowly dying.
Before his death, Heiter manages to impose on Frieren a young human apprentice named Fern. Driven by the elf's passion for collecting a large number of magical spells, the pair embark on a seemingly aimless journey, revisiting the places that the heroes of old had visited. Throughout his travels, Frieren slowly confronts his regret for missed opportunities to form deeper bonds with his comrades, now deceased.
