Shoshimin: How to Become Ordinary will have a second season

Following the airing of today's episode, the production of a second season for the anime adaptation of the novels "Shoshimin: How to Become Ordinary" was announced. The statement indicates that the premiere will be in Spring-2025 (April-June) and that the arcs "The Case of the Autumn-time Limited-Edition Candied Chestnuts and Sweet Potatoes" and "The Case of the Wintertime Limited-Edition Chocolate Bonbons" will be adapted.

On the other hand, Honobu Yonezawa began publishing the novels through Tokyo Sogensha in December 2004, starting with the story "The Case of the Springtime Limited-Edition Strawberry Tart", followed by "The Case of the Summertime Limited-Edition Tropical Parfait" in April 2006; and then by "The Case of the Autumn-time Limited-Edition Candied Chestnuts and Sweet Potatoes" and "The Mystery of the Paris Macaron". The most recent, titled "The Case of the Wintertime Limited-Edition Chocolate Bonbons" was released in April 2024.

Toshiya Oono (Yakusoku no Neverland, 86: Eighty Six, Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu, Houseki no Kuni) is in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
Atsushi Saitou (Koe no Katachi, Boku dake ga Inai Machi, High School Fleet, Love Live! Superstar!!) He is in charge of character design and animation direction.
Takahiro Obata (Yakusoku no Neverland, Pandora to Akubi, Ninjala) is in charge of composing the soundtrack.

"Let us help each other and aspire to become perfect ordinary citizens." Kobato, who once had a bitter experience with the deduction activities known as "wisdom work," was determined to become an honest and humble citizen. He secretly formed a reciprocal relationship with his classmate, Osanai, who shared the same aspiration, planning to make their high school debuts as ordinary citizens and lead peaceful days. However, for some reason, mysterious incidents and misfortunes follow one another in their school lives. Will Kobato and Osanai be able to reach peaceful days as ordinary citizens?
