The film is a reconstructed and improved version of the last two episodes of "The Final Season: Kanketsu-hen," which aired in March and November 2023. In this extended format, the film will offer 145 minutes of running time and will be optimized with a 5.1ch surround sound system, promising to immerse viewers in an epic and immersive final showdown. Yuichiro Hayashi, director of the film, expressed his satisfaction at having achieved what he considered a personal goal: to bring this ending to the big screen.

Since its debut in 2009, Hajime Isayama's manga has been one of the most influential works of the dark fantasy genre, being serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine until its conclusion in 2021. Throughout its 37 volumes, it has sold more than 140 million copies worldwide, consolidating itself as one of the best-selling manga in history. The anime series, which began airing in 2013, quickly became a global phenomenon, known for its dark narrative, complex characters, and shocking action scenes.

Synopsis of Shingeki no Kyojin: The Last Attack

In the aftermath of Eren Yeager's catastrophic actions, his friends and former enemies form an alliance against his genocidal acts. Armin Arlert, Mikasa Ackerman, and the remaining members of the Exploration Corps, once bitter enemies, join forces with those of Reiner Braun and the survivors of the Marleyan army. Their scant united front sets out on a mission to stop Eren's wrath and, if possible, save their old comrade in the process. As Eren moves forward at all costs, he struggles with his own inner turmoil.

Though he feels immense remorse for his horrific invasion, Eren believes he harbors noble intentions: he believes that the way forward is the only way to save his friends and, to a greater extent, his people. The warring battalions are spiraling towards an inevitable final confrontation that could claim the lives of millions of people. Though they face an army of monsters beyond what they could have imagined, Mikasa, Armin, and their allies remain brave in the face of certain doom.
