Shingeki no Kyojin will have an important announcement

On September 9, a new project of "Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan)" will be announced in commemoration of the fifteenth anniversary of the manga. This news was revealed today through the official Twitter account of the franchise.

The manga "Shingeki no Kyojin", written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama, began serialization in September 2009 and concluded in April 2021, accumulating a total of 141 chapters and thirty-four compilation volumes. On September 9, the day that marks 15 years since the launch of the first chapter of the series, a new project related to the franchise will be announced.
However, it has not yet been specified if it will be a new manga, a light novel, or something completely different. It has also not been revealed who will be the author in charge of this new project, which has generated great expectation among fans. Throughout its history, Shingeki no Kyojin has spawned several spin-offs, such as "Shingeki! Kyojin Chuugakkou" (Attack on Titan: Junior High), written by Saki Nakagawa, as well as various series of novels written by different authors, apart from Isayama.
- "Shingeki no Kyojin will celebrate the 15th anniversary of its release on September 9! To commemorate this special occasion, we are preparing a project that you will be able to enjoy together with all our readers, so stay tuned! We would love for you to follow this account and look forward to it."

The anime adaptation of the series was announced on December 1, 2012, and its first three seasons were animated by WIT STUDIO, while the rest of the series was produced by the MAPPA studio. The anime adaptation culminated on November 5, 2023, closing a cycle that kept fans on the edge of their seats for more than a decade.
Some fans expressed their desire for this new project to offer an alternative ending to the series, given that not everyone was satisfied with the original conclusion. Others wished for the new story to focus on the Great War of the Titans, a conflict that took place after Ymir awakened his powers as a Founding Titan. However, there was no shortage of fans who were more realistic, suggesting that the ad could be another play, an art book, or something less related to the main story.
This news has reignited the conversation around "Shingeki no Kyojin", a series that left an indelible mark on anime and manga culture. Although it is possible that the announcement of the new project will end up being completely disappointing, the excitement among fans is palpable. The possibility that this is something the community has been waiting for a long time keeps alive the hopes of those who were not completely satisfied with the end of the series.
