During the "Aniplex x Kadokawa Anime Matsuri" event, it was announced that the new project of the anime adaptation of the light novels "Seishun Buta Yarou Series (Rascal Does Not Dream)" will premiere sometime in 2025 in Japan. This new project will adapt the "University Arc", which begins with the tenth volume of the light novels, and will be titled "Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus", finally returning to the format of a television series.

Interestingly, this is the title of Volume 13 of the light novels, omitting other titles such as "Vol. 10 – Rascal Does Not Dream of a Lost Singer", "Vol. 11 – Rascal Does Not Dream of a Nightingale", and "Vol. 12 – Rascal Does Not Dream of His Student". What will the production company's plans be in this regard? Will they cover those volumes within the same series or will they make more films?

Synopsis of Seishun Buta Yarou Series

One day, in the library where Sakuta Azusagawa studies, he stumbles upon an unexpected sight: a beautiful high school girl dressed as a bunny. It turns out to be Mai Sakurajima, a famous former actress and fellow student at Minegahara High School. However, his surprise at seeing Mai dressed so boldly in the library is nothing compared to the surprise of realizing that he is the only one who can see her. Remembering an event from her past, Sakuta offers to help Mai discover the reason for her invisibility. Despite their initial conflicted relationship, the two soon become intimate: Mai and Sakuta learn to appreciate each other and their friendship turns into a budding romance.

This further fuels his determination to solve Mai's dilemma. As the investigation progresses, Sakuta attributes Mai's situation to an urban legend known as Adolescence Syndrome: strange phenomena that occur in youth, unexplained by science and often dismissed as delusions. With few promising results, Mai's situation worsens to the point that going unnoticed is the least of her worries. Can Sakuta and Mai solve the mystery of their teenage syndrome before it disappears completely?
