Santa Claus to Dish Out Punches in SANDA Anime

A press release announced that the manga written and illustrated by Paru Itagaki, "SANDA", will have an anime adaptation. Although the statement did not reveal a release date, it did list that Science SARU studios will be in charge of the animation of the project.

For his part, Paru Itagaki began publishing the manga through Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion magazine in July 2021, and ended it today with a total of fifteen compilation volumes. The author also wrote the popular manga "BEASTARS," which is also being adapted into anime.
Synopsis of SANDA
The story is set in Japan in 2080. Affected by the decline in the birth rate, Japan has implemented a series of policies to control minors, such as arranging marriage couples from childhood, not letting children sleep to slow down their development and forcing them to go to the bathroom separately from adults. The social status of young people is also higher than that of adults. Santa Claus has long been sealed because of the curse, which makes society think that Santa Claus has disappeared, and consider Christmas as an ancient custom or a fictional legend.
On December 25, when it was snowing, high school student Sanda Kazushige's body seal was broken by his classmate Fuyumura Shiori, making him look like Santa Claus. Later, Sanda discovers that she can revert to her middle school form by eating jelly beans, or switch to Santa Claus form by dressing in red. The reason Fuyumura lifted the seal was that he hoped Sanda would help find his missing classmate Ono Ichie, and he also hoped that she would remind society of Christmas.
