Pierrot wants to imitate the success of Kimetsu no Yaiba

The third season of "Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War" will join popular anime studio Pierrot's newly created PIERROT FILMS brand, a new venture signaling the studio's future production goals.

Pierrot Studios anime producer Yoshihiro Tominaga spoke to Men's Non-No magazine about the company's long-term plans. To respond to the growing demand for high-quality anime that can be produced quickly, such as "Kimetsu no Yaiba" and "Jujutsu Kaisen," the company has announced the launch of PIERROT FILMS.
"This studio will produce original works as well as works based on manga for adults (seinen)," Tominaga says. "The next season of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War will also be produced at PIERROT FILMS. I think this opus is aimed at people who have already seen Kimetsu no Yaiba and Jujutsu Kaisen, so our goal is to deliver high-quality visuals and stories in a short period of time, while firmly reinforcing the brand power of the studio."
More than just a brand move, PIERROT FILMS represents a major change in production style, in addition to Pierrot's usual processes. Although the third season of "Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War" may capture the attention of most fans, "Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master" is likely to be the first anime from this new venture, which airs as part of the Spring-2024 programming.
Honma said, "Yatagarasu: The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master, which has been airing since April, is also a work created in this new style, so please pay attention to it, as well as many works in series that are currently on hiatus. Please keep an eye on the future of Pierrot, which is taking on the challenge of creating new animation."
