Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete ends, but no sequel announcement

It is undeniable that the anime adaptation of "Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete (Gushing over Magical Girls)" was one of the highlights during the Winter-2024 season (January-March). In fact, it was considered one of the "surprises" of the season, especially since the theme of magical girls has been so over-exploited that no one gives a penny for a new series of the genre that does not have "Madoka" in the title.

However, the clever combination of eroticism and magical girls, mixed with some yuri (the real thing, not the yuri-bait that leads nowhere in the story) allowed this adaptation to attract attention with each of its new episodes week after week. The story centers on Utena Hiiragi, a fan of magical girls who gets the opportunity to join this world, but with an interesting twist. It turns out that Utena is recruited to become a villain, and through this new job she discovers her masochistic tendencies and the pleasure she feels from torturing the magical girls she adores so much.
The series aired its final episode this week, but sadly did not report on the production of any continuation in the form of a second season or a movie. The adaptation covered up to Chapter 24 of the original "Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete" manga, so those interested in knowing how the story continues should start with Chapter 25. Currently the original work has more than fifty chapters, so there is enough content to produce a sequel.
Will this sequel arrive in the future? It didn't take long for fans to debate about it:
- "My hopes for a second season are pretty low for this kind of show."
- "I'm waiting for an OVA or a second season."
- "It was a good final episode, but when it comes to beach episodes, it's like a definitive closure."
- "Ah, it's over. Will there be a second season or an OVA?"
- "Seriously, it's a masterpiece of ecchi on a level we rarely see in the genre."
- "It was a great story of perverts being abused by a pervert."
- "A lot of ecchi announced their second seasons, and they were pretty bad, how come this show didn't?"
- "I'd really like to know what happens next. Can we wait for a second season?"
- "A good anime, it's really been seen little in recent years. I'd like to see a second season done before the manga ends or someone cancels it."
