KonoSuba will close its smartphone game

The official website of the smartphone game "KonoSuba: Fantastic Days" recently revealed that the game's service will end on January 30, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. (Japan time). This announcement has surprised the community of fans, who for years have enjoyed the RPG adaptation of the popular KonoSuba franchise, based on the light novel series by Natsume Akatsuki.

Sumzap, the developer company, confirmed that it will continue to release content related to the game's main story, along with special events and campaigns until the definitive closure of the service. As a farewell measure for players, Sumzap also announced its intention to create an offline version of the game, which will allow fans to continue enjoying some aspects of the app even after the shutdown. However, the announcement only mentions that this version will be available to Japanese players, while the English version, currently managed by Seisoft, has not confirmed the existence of a similar project.

The original version of "KonoSuba: Fantastic Days" debuted in Japan in February 2020, and its global release came in August 2021 from Nexon, a company that managed the international version until Seisoft later took over its administration. Over the years, the game has been characterized by its original story fully voiced with voices, where players have the opportunity to team up with iconic characters from the series and participate in combat. This immersion in the world of KonoSuba has been one of the main draws of the title, allowing players to experience first-hand the comedy and adventures that define the series.
