Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san might continue one day

As we had already reported in a previous article, the manga of "Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san (Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro)" still had a little more to offer when the last compilation volume was released in Japan. This volume, released yesterday in Japan, included an epilogue that finally showed us what happened after the closing of the events of the original work.

Now that Senpai has moved to live alone to study at the University of Tokyo, Nagatoro has been left alone to continue studying in high school (she is a year younger than Senpai) and prepare to also enter the same university. While celebrating her birthday with her siblings and friends, Nagatoro discovers that Senpai sent her a huge gift and is about to open it immediately.

The big surprise, however, is that inside the box was Senpai himself, as it was something that Nagatoro's friends prepared to surprise her. She is absolutely pleased with this gift, and spends the rest of the day in the company of her friends, family and boyfriend.

To close, Nagatoro promises Senpai that he will enter the University of Tokyo to study and that he already has a recommendation earned thanks to his sporting achievements. Then we have a time jump and finally we see them living together as a couple.

Well, it wasn't actually time jumping, but they both imagined themselves living together once they start studying at the same school, thus concluding the story of "Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san".

The last page also includes a message from author Nanashi, who promised that 'one day' he might write a one-shot narrating what happened after all this:

• Being contacted and suddenly starting this series, I nervously thought at first that this manga would be canceled... However, thanks to the support of all readers, it was made into an anime and has continued its serialization for 6 years and 9 months! To all the readers who have read this far, to all those involved who have supported me, thank you very much. Not only in Japan, but also in many foreign countries, I received warm support that made me very happy. The comments on Magazine Pocket and the fan letters have encouraged me a lot. I'm a little slow to respond, so I'm sorry that I can't write answers often.
• This story of "Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san" started as a hobby work that I drew online when I felt like it, and I think I've been able to reach the end point that I had vaguely imagined since then for Nagatoro-san and Senpai. When I announced the end online, I received many more voices of lament than I had imagined. The joy of having created a work loved by many, the gratitude towards the fans, the sorrow that it ends and the nostalgia for the work, all those feelings flooded me. However, I thought that if I forcibly continued it, it would move away from what it should be, so I have decided to put down the pencil.
• Although the serialization of "Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san" ends, the days of Nagatoro-san and Senpai will continue forever. With those feelings, I drew the last epilogue. I can't promise when it will be, but maybe one day, when I feel like it, I'll draw a one-shot about the daily life of Nagatoro-san and the others.
