HUNTER x HUNTER promises another 50 chapters

Fans of "HUNTER x HUNTER" recently received a mix of hope and frustration following a new update from author Yoshihiro Togashi on his official Twitter account. In the message, Togashi shared:

"I'm reviewing and adjusting the character dialogue and timeline of the next 50 Hunter Hunter chapters, which will be published in the future. As soon as I finish that work, I will resume the work I have been interrupting, such as adding ink to manuscripts."

However, despite the positive tone of the statement, the manga remains officially on hold, a recent report confirmed. After a brief return in October 2024, the manga went on an indefinite hiatus again after the publication of Chapter 410 on December 8. This situation is not new to fans of the series, as long breaks have become a recurring element due to Togashi's chronic health problems, particularly severe back pain that has made it difficult for him to work continuously.

A history of breaks for health reasons

"HUNTER x HUNTER", which began publication in 1998 in the Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine, has been a revolutionary work in the shōnen manga genre, but also one of the most intermittent. Since 2006, Togashi has had to take numerous extended breaks, some lasting more than a year, which has generated a bittersweet relationship between the author and his readers.
