From the author of Punpun, Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction would have anime

A recent leak claimed that the manga written and illustrated by Inio Asano, "Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction", will have an anime adaptation in series format that aims to adapt the entirety of the original work. According to the leak, this would be a separate project to the two films released on March 22 and May 24, 2024 in theaters in Japan, so confirmation is expected to come when the second one is released.

For his part, Inio Asano began publishing the manga through Shogakukan's Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine in April 2014 and finished it in February 2021. The work went through multiple hiatuses since July 2014, but also achieved recognition in the "Best General Manga" category at the sixty-sixth edition of the Shogakukan Manga Awards, held in January 2021.
Inio Asano is also the author of well-known works such as "Oyasumi Punpun" (one of the highest-rated manga in the entire history of MyAnimeList), "Solanin", "Umibe no Onnanoko", and "Subarashii Sekai", to mention a few.
Synopsis of Dead Demons Dededede Destruction
When you look up at the sky, what do you see? A blue sky? Freedom? A hopeful future? Tokyoites don't see any of that. Instead, an ominous alien mothership looms over them, engulfing the cityscape. Three years ago, they arrived. The arrival of the "invaders" triggered the greatest war humanity has ever faced, one that threatened to end the world. The Japanese government rushed to fight the invaders. Weapons were mass-produced, sparking controversy and pacifist movements.
That day, everything changed. And yet, nothing has changed. Koyama Kadode and Nakagawa Ouran live their final days as they always have: going to school, playing with their friends, and doing what any carefree girl in high school would do. As they grow up, they learn what it really means to be an adult, in a world where adults seem to be demons who only deceive and destroy. They come to learn that the real threat to humanity is not the Invaders, but humanity itself.
