From the author of Nichijou, CITY will have an anime

During a special broadcast, Kyoto Animation studios announced that the manga written and illustrated by Keiichi Arawi, "CITY", will have an anime adaptation that will premiere sometime in the year 2025 in Japan. This is another of the works of the author of "Nichijou – My Ordinary Life", and is the studio's first non-sequel production in more than six years.

For his part, Keiichi Arawi began publishing the manga through Kodansha's Morning magazine in September 2017, and finished it in February 2021 with a total of thirteen compilation volumes. The author also wrote other works such as "Nichijou – My Ordinary Life" and "Helvetica Standard", both of which inspired a joint anime adaptation also produced by Kyoto Animation and released in 2011.
Voice cast
Mikako Komatsu as Midori Nagumo, a naïve and innocent girl who causes incidents everywhere. His future dream is to do fun things.

Aki Toyosaki as Niikura, a girl who doesn't stop throwing punches and ends up getting into everything. She claims to be a completely normal girl, and her dream is to be a photographer.

Yui Ishikawa as Wako Izumi, a bit of a mysterious girl, and it's unclear if she's normal or a gender.

Synopsis of CITY
From the creator of Nichijou, this surreal series revolves around a penniless college student, Midori Nagumo, who lives in an ordinary city full of ordinary people. And as this reckless girl runs around, she sets the city in motion.
Midori is in a bind. She is in debt and her landlady tries to kick her out for non-payment of rent. Her best friend refuses to lend her money since she realized her tricks. Maybe a little bullying will help. Or a petty theft? Neither is sustainable. Maybe getting a job would fix things... But working means less time for fun adventures in the big city...
