This year, Ryoko Kui's manga "Dungeon Meshi (Delicious in Dungeon)" won Best Manga. In addition, it was revealed that manga creator Akira Toriyama, famous for works such as "Dragon Ball," will be posthumously inducted into the Harvey Awards Hall of Fame, along with four other new members. Among the nominees in the Best Manga category were other notable works such as Mokumokuren's "The Summer Hikaru Died," Kamome Shirahama's "Witch Hat Atelier," Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe's "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," and Junji Ito's "Soichi: Junji Ito Story Collection," among others. However, it was "Dungeon Meshi" that managed to stand out in this edition, consolidating itself as one of the favorites of the public and critics.

As for other categories, the video game "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Hinokami Chronicles", based on the popular manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, and the musical "Attack on Titan: The Musical", based on the work of Hajime Isayama, were nominated in the category of Best Adaptation, although the award finally went to X-Men '97.

The Harvey Awards incorporated the Best Manga category in 2018, with Kabi Nagata's "My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness" as the first winning work. Since then, titles such as Kohei Horikoshi's "My Hero Academia," Kamome Shirahama's "Witch Hat Atelier," and Tatsuki Fujimoto's "Chainsaw Man," who dominated this category for the past three years, have received this recognition.
