Dragon Ball Daima reveals the origins of Majin Buu

The most recent episode of "Dragon Ball Daima" continues to expand the legacy of the franchise with shocking revelations about the origins of Majin Buu, one of the most iconic characters in the series. In addition to featuring a stunning battle between Goku (in his child form) and Tamagami #3, Episode 8 introduces the true creator of Majin Buu, altering what fans thought they knew from Dragon Ball Z.
In the original series, Majin Buu was introduced as a creation of the evil extraterrestrial sorcerer Bibidi, Babidi's father. However, in 2014, Akira Toriyama clarified in an interview for Saikyo Jump magazine that Bibidi did not actually create Majin Buu, but simply woke him up from an ancestral lethargy, revealing that the terrifying being had existed since time immemorial. Now, a decade later, Dragon Ball Daima takes up this detail and gives another twist to the story by introducing the true architect behind the birth of Majin Buu.
The episode reveals that Marba, an enigmatic demonic witch, was responsible for the creation of Majin Buu. The brilliant but ruthless Dr. Arinsu, in her bid to become the next leader of the Demon Realm, turns to the old sorceress for help. Although Marba initially denies having created Buu, she ends up admitting it after facing the consequences of his work: countless deaths and the destruction of the Demon Realm.
Despite the catastrophic consequences of his original creation, Marba agrees to create a new Majin Buu under the promise that he will obey Arinsu's orders without question. During the summoning ritual, subtle references to Majin Buu's more evil forms, such as Super Buu and the chaotic Kid Buu, are observed, hinting that Dragon Ball Daima might be preparing the return of an alternate version of the latter.

The episode also reveals that Dr. Arinsu was present during Vegeta's explosive sacrifice in Dragon Ball Z. At that time, he managed to collect a fragment of Majin Buu while regenerating, later using it in his experiments. Although Majin Buu has left his evil side behind after parting ways with his evil personality, Kid Buu remains one of the most fearsome villains the Z Fighters have ever faced.

With this development, Dragon Ball Daima seems to follow the trend of reviving classic antagonists in new forms, as previously seen with Cell Max in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero and the return of Golden Frieza, in addition to the upcoming appearance of Black Frieza in the manga. New episodes of Dragon Ball Daima are available every Friday.
