Dr. STONE returns in January with its final season

On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga "Dr. STONE", the main promotional video for "Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE", the fourth and final season of the project, was revealed. The video confirms that the first part, of a total of three, will premiere on January 9, 2025 in Japan, and lists a fragment of the musical themes, which include:
- The band ALI will perform the opening theme titled "CASANOVA POSSE," while BREIMEN will perform the closing theme titled "Rolling Stone."
As previously reported, this final season will be divided into a total of three parts that will be broadcast separately (that is, there will be at least three months of separation between them). According to a leak, this first part will have twelve episodes.
For their part, Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi began publishing the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in March 2017 and finished it in March 2022. The work inspired a twenty-four-episode anime adaptation produced by TMS Entertainment studios and released in Summer-2019 (July-September). It was followed by a second season in Winter-2021 (January-March) and a third in Autumn-2023 (October-December).

Dr. STONE Synopsis
After five years of harboring unexpressed feelings, high school student Taiju Ooki is finally ready to confess his love to Yuzuriha Ogawa. However, just as Taiju begins his confession, a blinding green light hits the Earth and petrifies humanity all over the world, turning every human being into stone. Several millennia later, Taiju awakens to find the modern world completely non-existent, as nature has flourished in the years when humanity stood still.
Among a stone world of statues, Taiju meets another living human being: his science-loving friend Senkuu, who has been active for a few months. Taiju learns that Senkuu has developed a grand plan: to launch the complete rebirth of civilization with science. Taiju's strength and Senkuu's brain combine to forge a formidable partnership, and they soon discover a method to revive the petrified. However, Senkuu's master plan is threatened when his ideologies are challenged by those who awaken. Meanwhile, the reason for humanity's petrification is unknown.
