Classroom of the Elite will have a fourth season

During the "MF Bunko J Natsu no Gakuensai 2024" event, the production of a fourth season for the anime adaptation of the light novels "Classroom of the Elite (Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e)" was announced. This new season will begin with the Second Year Saga of the original light novels, although the statement did not reveal details about it, it was not even confirmed if the Lerche studios continue to be in charge of this production.

For their part, Shougo Kinugasa and Shunsaku Tomose began the publication of the light novels through the MF Bunko J publishing house of the Media Factory publishing house in May 2015, and finished the First Year Saga in September 2019, starting the next one in January 2020 and currently in publication. Two manga adaptations, one by Yuyu Ichino and another by Shia Sasane are currently in serialization.
So far, the work has inspired a total of three seasons for its anime adaptation that add up to a total of thirty-eight episodes and that were first broadcast in Summer-2017 (July-September). Despite the popularity of the story, there are certain criticisms towards the narrative quality of the anime adaptation.
Synopsis of Classroom of the Elite
On the outside, Koudo Ikusei High School looks like a utopia. Students enjoy great freedom, and yet it is among the best high schools in Japan. However, the reality is far from that. There are four classes, from A to D in order of merit, and only the best receive benefits. Kiyotaka Ayanokouji is a student in class D, where the school sends its worst garbage. There he meets the unsociable Suzune Horikita, who is sure she was assigned there by mistake, and wishes to climb the ranks to reach Class A, and the beautiful Kikyou Kushida, whose goal is to make as many friends as possible. While staying in school is eternal, staying in class is not, and students can use any method they see fit to climb the ranks...
