Boku no Hero Academia Lost Relevance According to the Japanese

As we have already reported in previous articles, the story of the "Boku no Hero Academia" manga is about to end within the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump. With the play quite close to completing ten years in serialization, one would think that the fact that it is nearing completion would mean that netizens won't stop talking about the work, but apparently that's not happening. In fact, on a popular comment forum, the Japanese debated the fact that this work ended up being shelved some time ago.

The play is now over with its plot climax, with Deku defeating All For One once and for all, but sacrificing One For All in the process. With this, he will end up running out of Quirk at a young age (unlike All Might, who ran out of powers having already fulfilled his career as a hero). And although the outlook is depressing, it is worth remembering that author Kohei Horikoshi spoiled the ending of the work in the first chapter.
Recall that in the debut of the story, Izuku Midoriya introduces himself and presents the story of "Boku no Hero Academia" as the path that led him to become the number one hero in the world that he currently is. In fact, several of the bad things that happened to Deku ended up being reversed just a few chapters later, so readers know that, somehow, there will be a happy ending for the protagonist (especially because of the presence of the deus-ex-machina maker, Eri).
Anyway, why don't we review what the Japanese had to say about it?
- "I think I only got to read the first volume of the manga."
- "I never understood what they found interesting about this story. Perhaps if the setting had always been academia, as the title suggested, it would have been more relevant."
- "I get the impression that they keep making anime seasons just out of obligation to finish it."
- "It was pretty fun when they had interactions in hero school, but the serious parts were boring as hell and too long."
- "The final battle ended without any emotion. The story took too many leaps and bounds to the point of confusing the reader, and I have the impression that it didn't quite end."
- "What happened to all the series that try to imitate the arcs of One Piece without thinking about whether a story format really fits in their work. It got interesting until the moment when the other characters stopped appearing and we started having one-on-one fights. Then they tried to put them back in and the story got even more shitty."
- "I see that Horikoshi-sensei tried on more than one occasion to make the secondary characters stand out in some way. There was a wide variety of skills, but their personalities just didn't help."
- "In the end, the popularity of Boku no Hero Academia fell on its haters and the fans of Bakugo, who I think is a nefarious character."
- "Isn't that story where Eri-chan always ends up restoring everything and everything is left as if nothing happened?"
- "Even so, the way they defeated All For One seemed pathetic to me. The play was quite interesting up to about half."
- "It's incredibly popular in the West, where tastes are distinctly decadent."
- "Boku no Hero Academia took too long to finish, so much so that it was eventually replaced by Jujutsu Kaisen and Kimetsu no Yaiba."
- "It's like One Piece but with better art, the protagonist was buried in his own story."
