During the LEVEL5 VISION 2024 TO THE WORLD'S CHILDREN event, developer LEVEL-5 revealed a new trailer for its long-awaited crime role-playing and thriller game "DECAPOLICE", also announcing that the project will have an anime adaptation, which will be released simultaneously with the video game in 2026. This announcement comes on the heels of the decision to again delay the game's release, which was originally planned for 2023.

The delayed game DECAPOLICE will have anime

DECAPOLICE, which will now also arrive on PC via Steam along with its previously confirmed versions for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, has generated great anticipation due to its intriguing story, centered on the young detective Harvard Marks and his work at the Broadstone Special Investigation Center. The protagonist must investigate crimes in both the real and virtual worlds, using the Decasim simulator, a tool that recreates a city in its entirety and where a hacker has turned its inhabitants into puppets. Through this simulator, players will be able to solve crimes and, sometimes, face the "Crime Beasts", entities that represent the evil of criminals.

The game's theme song, titled "City of Love," will be performed by MARiA from the popular duo GARNiDELiA, adding a dramatic and emotional touch to both the game and the upcoming anime series. According to Akihiro Hino, president and CEO of LEVEL-5, both products are being developed in parallel in order to offer a coherent and complementary experience, highlighting the importance of visual and narrative improvements in both the game and the series.

Although specific details of the anime are still scarce, the series is expected to expand the "DECAPOLICE" universe beyond what the game will show, delving into the mysteries of Decasim and the emotional conflicts of the characters. LEVEL-5, known for hits such as the Professor Layton franchise, seeks to capture the public's attention again with this ambitious mix of suspense, crime and virtual reality, creating great anticipation for both video game and anime fans.
