Grand Blue would get a second season

A recent leak claimed that the anime adaptation of the manga written by Kenji Inoue and illustrated by Kimitake Yoshioka, "Grand Blue," will get a second season. The information is pending official confirmation, but it comes from an extremely reliable source for us and that has never failed in the past.

If confirmed, this second season would arrive after more than six years since the first aired, and more than four years since the live-action film was produced.

Grand Blue would get a second season

Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioka began publishing the manga through Good! Afternoon from Kodansha in April 2014, where it is still in serialization despite constant suspensions due to the writer's unstable state of health. A twelve-episode anime adaptation aired during the Summer-2018 (July-September) season, under the production of Zero-G Studios.

Synopsis of Grand Blue

Iori Kitahara moves to the coastal city of Izu for his first year of college and settles in Grand Blue, his uncle's dive shop. Iori has high hopes and dreams of having the ideal college experience, but when he enters the store he is sucked into the alcoholic activities of the carefree members of the Dive Club who frequent the place. Persuaded by upperclassmen Shinji Tokita and Ryuujirou Kotobuki, Iori reluctantly joins their bizarre party.

His cousin Chisa Kotegawa later enters and catches him red-handed, earning Iori her utter contempt. Based on the popular comic manga by Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioka, Grand Blue follows Iori's misadventures with his eccentric new friends as he strives to make his ideal college dream come true, while also learning to scuba dive.
